How to be a Nobody
By Kwee Lain
Everybody wants to be a somebody
Nobody knows how to be a nobody
If ever there is a somebody
Who knows how to be a nobody
Then that nobody is a real somebody
If you ever want to be a nobody
Then follow that somebody
Who already is a nobody
Later, let go of everybody
Even that somebody
Who already is a nobody
Eventually, you will be a real nobody
Written by somebody, who wants to be a nobody, for the benefit of everybody.

Yes, just ask Him to reveal Himself to you. No Chrisianese, prayer chants or meditating on the word. Just ask. I should add that you may be in a spin for a while as you wrestle with some of the things He will show you. You will have to UNLEARN a lot of STUFF.

BTW...I'll be absent from Jim's blog from 4/16-4/25 while I'm on vacation. I'm going to try to make it an 'unplugged' vacation meaning no computers! Yikes...I'll be anxious to know if I can actually pull it off. Take care!
I also take at least a little time each day for a 'spiritual pit stop'. Some days it may only be 2 minutes, other days it's 10. It's just my time to be in the moment with JC to say, 'hey, I'm here...my heart is open...thank you'.
I also find that I stay much more 'in tune' with Him when I honor my body as my temple, the temple of my spirit. Eating more of an organic, raw diet does wonders for me. I'm not a vegan, but I find that when I cut out sugar, white flour, and most starches...I just feel so CLEAN. Clean body, clean mind, clean spirit. Those are a few 'practices' that are meaningful to me.
I can relate...JC is my all-in-all too! I feel my relationship deepening with Him as I surrender on a moment by moment basis. I enjoy Jim's blog and love to talk about spiritual issues...but sometimes I just want to talk less and feel Him more. That's curious to me because I'm usually so analytical about everything. I truly appreciate your open heart and your willingness to share. You are a treasure!
Gosh...I don't have one, favorite author. It just depends on what the subject matter is, or what my mood is. Right now I've got three books that I'm enjoying. They are RAPT by Winifred Gallagher. She believes the quality of your life depends on the focus of your attention. Right on! Then, there's FINDING BEAUTY IN A BROKEN WORLD by Terry Tempest Williams...need I say more! And, finally PLAY by Stuart Brown. He's a doctor who says 'play' shapes the brain, opens the imagination and invigorates the soul. As you can tell, I gravitate toward non-fiction. Now, I just have to carve out the quiet time to read....which can be a challenge in itself.
Great to 'see' you here too! Yes, I live very close to Seattle. Actually, Lynnwood is a suburb of it. We live on the north tip end of Lake Washington. Then there's Puget Sound too. Lots of salt air, which I love!
I think I've read one of Manning's books...Abba's Child, or something like that. I read a ton of books...
