Hello Keren, I think if you look into it, you'll find that the 10 Lepers did not ask for healing - and only one of them returned to thank Jesus afterward. If memory serves, it seems Martin Bell talks about this in his classic book of thoughts, THE…

That's one of the reasons why I'm careful about who I "friend". Not to be rude or seclusive, but just careful. It would be nice if we could do something about it. Maybe if we ALL emailed Jim he could check into it. I'm not altogether sure he even re…

A Little About Me

I am sort of a backwards nobody because my parents were "shedders" back in the 60's...and I never belonged to a church, we never went ..not even on Christmas or Easter, only for other people's weddings and funerals...
...until 5 years ago when i was baptised and joined a church (Roman Catholic) at age 45 for the first time in my life.

So while I dont really fit in 100%....I have total empathy and understanding for those leaving any place of bondage for places of freedom. This is a great group. I hope you find comfort here...I know you will enjoy it here.

Our role as God-bearers & Musings on Mary Mother of God

Do you ever wonder what Mary felt when the Spirit of God entered her to become Jesus in her womb? There doesn’t seem to be a whole lot in scripture specifically about that part of incarnation…

What does it feel like?
It happened all of a sudden, without warning, time seemed suspended, yet it was over in an instant.

The Holy Spirit comes upon you with warmth, beginning in the center of your core, ever increasing in intensity. Pure melted heat radiates as it pours downward through your inside

Updated/Clarified Suspended: A Story About Healing...and a Question about Jesus's Healing

A co-worker/friend of mine at a previous job had a darling little girl, Heather. At the time of this story, she was about 7 years old. I would see her whenever she came to the office with her dad. Heather was a bright-eyed, wide-smiled friendly child and quite precocious.

My favorite story about Heather was when she was suspended from school, a private Baptist Elementary School. Fresh from the principal's office to dad's she was still wearing her plaid school uniform. She had been crying hard a… Continue

Thanks for the welcome, Keren. I'm excited about finding this blog; when you aren't involved in a church in the modern sense of the term, it can definitely feel lonely at times. It's nice to know that there are other seekers out there for whom the current system isn't a fit anymore. The problem is finding the alternative since leaving a void where fellowship is supposed to be doesn't seem to work well. I haven't read Divine Nobodiesyet, but I have found a lot of helpful books, most particularly Dan Stone's The Rest of the Gospel. Thanks again . . . Emma.

Getting "mad" is part of disillusionment...works fine when we don't let it turn to bitterness but rather drive us closer to Him.

Duh! I even mentioned that "horn of eyepaint" thing in my book on Job. My bad... I looked up "vineyard" and it's kerem with an "m."

You mentioned your mentors and "Tea." I was involved as a mentor at Denver seminary for the last few years and it prompted some thought about disillusionment in mentoring and counseling based on the Wisdom of Job and Ecclesiastes.

Hi Keren-Tea, doesn't Keren mean "vineyard" in Hebrew, or something similar?

I'm not really a shedder, either, but find myself "sympathizing" as well. Hmmm...sounds like the makings of kindred spirits.

Yeah, the book is all about self-sufficiency and disillusionment among people who find that life just ain't workin'. I find that Job and Ecclesiastes have a lot to say about that and could speak volumes to the shedders out there (and anyone else who is thoroughly disillusioned about the way things have turned out).

Hi Keren-Tea!
I love my name too, it's been both a blessing (great conversation starter) and a curse (crude comments about eating squid). But to me, no name is better than being called a daughter of the Most High King!

How to be a Nobody

How to be a Nobody
By Kwee Lain

Everybody wants to be a somebody
Nobody knows how to be a nobody
If ever there is a somebody
Who knows how to be a nobody
Then that nobody is a real somebody

If you ever want to be a nobody
Then follow that somebody
Who already is a nobody
Later, let go of everybody
Even that somebody
Who already is a nobody
Eventually, you will be a real nobody

Written by somebody, who wants to be a nobody, for the benefit of everybody.
