I recognise that there is a significant difference between the emerging / emergent / house church scene in the US and UK. I was already married and settled down at the time of the Hippies. The house church movement really developed in the UK in the…

Hey thanks for letting me know about the other link becauseI had completely missed it the first time I read your post. Anyhow, after reading the concepts in Simply Follow I think it is a great starting point for New Testament Christianity. It had c…

Keren's question of "How does something exist without definition?" is a great question. God has created a house church movement without a main leader (except for Him). These churches popped up everywhere and I don't believe you can trace it back to…

Hello Denise. The other link in the original post offers a starting point for discussion and life together. What would you (and others) say regarding that? - J.

Very good read thanks for sharing it with us. I've always admired Simson and his ability to help me really think about what "church" really and truly is or at least should be. He hits the nail on the head with the fact that Christ is the head of the…

This is a group for authors who write and publish books (or in the process of) in the genre of "nonreligious spirituality," whether it's through a publishing house or self-published.

This brief article by Wolfgang Simson speaks a very important truth, particularly to those who have left the traditional church or are considering doing so. Plus, it is an engaging read. http://www.simsonwolfgang.de/betterthantheHippies.pdf I wou…

Excellent question Steve. For me, at 2 months out I was very much in detox mode as was my lovely wife. Now at 1.5 years the detox has tapered off, but continues nonetheless. We are social beings by design. We yearn for community. The New Testament…

For those who claim to follow Jesus I think it is critical to prayerfully, thoughtfully understand and - I will go ahead and say it - agree... on what "the gospel" is... the core message and mission that Jesus gave his body. With all respect to my b…

God designed us for himself... to know him, to walk with him. If we are willing to dump the sludge of the our past (see following) and let him fill us afresh with his word and his spirit... we will walk each day with our Father... and that is just w…

Short Blurb

I love to pray, meditate, study and write. Writing helps me, and sometimes people say what I have written helps them. I also love a truly outstanding cup of tea. Combine tea with the aforementioned pursuits and I could possibly make a good hermit, but for the next point...

I have learned that God has designed the Body of Christ to need - need - each other in order to grow up healthy (Eph 4). I do not wish to become and remain a navel-gazing troll by my own doing. So, I need to interact with you... apparently.

You can view some of my writings at http://www.livewickmedia.com/

Do feel free to comment on any and all things you find on the site, even the very silly parts (which are clearly labelled so as not to damage more sensitive viewers).

If you have not smiled while reading this, you have misunderstood my humor. Go take a class somewhere and try again.

How to be a Nobody

How to be a Nobody
By Kwee Lain

Everybody wants to be a somebody
Nobody knows how to be a nobody
If ever there is a somebody
Who knows how to be a nobody
Then that nobody is a real somebody

If you ever want to be a nobody
Then follow that somebody
Who already is a nobody
Later, let go of everybody
Even that somebody
Who already is a nobody
Eventually, you will be a real nobody

Written by somebody, who wants to be a nobody, for the benefit of everybody.
