Keren, yes, you are absolutely right, if a pastor's gift is healing, he should certainly use it with all the gusto he can! Paul certainly did learn to find strength in his weakness. Some think Paul may have had a speech impediment or poor eyesight…

Paula & Keren, You both mentioned balance and I was thinking how much easier it is to spot 'imbalance' than the other way around. On TV some pastors spend all their time 'healing' in the Spirit, 'slaying' in the Spirit, and speaking prophetically.…

Paula, I took a little "test" once which revealed which member of the Trinity I lean to. If I recall, those who have a great interest in doctrine, knowledge and teaching lean towards God, the Father. Those who emphasize love, compassion, social acti…

Hi Paula, I'm with you, Sunday used to be a real pain in the neck when my kids were little. Everyone usually ended up grumpy (especially me) and irritated (especially my husband), because nobody wanted to get up and there was barely time for breakf…

A Thunderstorm, My Cat and God

A thunderstorm rambled through my area this morning. I stooped in front of an open window, with my cat on a chair beside me, to witness the event. We sniffed the rainy air together. We watched a lone rabbit huddle beneath an evergreen in an effort to stay dry. We listened to the groanings and rumblings in the sky above.

Then I got to thinking about Tao. Tao is defined as the path that all life and the whole universe takes. Tao is constantly moving, the natural order of things. Tao is a force th… Continue

I don't know about a strong gift of healing. The Lord has placed a passion in me minister in that area. I love it when I get to participate in Him revealing Himself to someone as Healer. If you're interested in more info on HR's you can go to www.healingroomsministries.org. I've worked with them for over 4 years and have learned so much.
I feel the same way when I visit a church these days. My husband and I occasionally visit a nearby Baptist church who's pastor is a great teacher who is receiving much revelation from the Lord about the Kingdom of God. Also we appreciate the he doesn't hesitate to speak out on the truth even if it might offend some people. Unfortunately we don't go as much as maybe we would like, because we don't want the people to get the idea that we're "looking" for a church.

Thanks for tracking me down. Just finished "Nobodies" book. So good. I left a women's ministry and large church after attending many years recently. It has been a painful yet liberating experience. I feel like scales have fallen from my eyes. I am looking forward to becoming a regular on the website. Would love to hear your story/journey to becoming an Ohio nobody.

Hmm, well let me try to make a long story short...My husband, Mal, and I discovered this church through a friend 2 years ago. Almost as soon as we began to attend the pastor met with us for dinner and said that he saw leadership potential in us and encouraged us to join. After some prayer and waiting for a couple of months, we did. Very quickly we were placed on the prayer team, facilitators group, and even on the smaller intercessors team. It was great for awhile, but as the pressure increased to become even more involved in things of the church, I became more and more uneasy. Finally, a few months ago, I read "So You Don't Want to go to Church Anymore" and I haven't been the same since. I've been out of the church structure for almost 3 months, my hubby a bit less. Our relationship with the Lord has risen to a whole new level. I cannot even describe how wonderful this new found freedom in Him is.
We stay in fellowship with a few close Jesus-loving friends. We are ministers at the Healing Rooms here in the Corpus Christi area and we participate in city wide prayer meetings which are attended by individuals from many different denominations.
Life in Him is so good!!!
Okay, so I wasn't able to keep it as short as I would like. Sorry!

Thanks for the response. I'm really enjoying this group. Been telling my friends about it.

How to be a Nobody

How to be a Nobody
By Kwee Lain

Everybody wants to be a somebody
Nobody knows how to be a nobody
If ever there is a somebody
Who knows how to be a nobody
Then that nobody is a real somebody

If you ever want to be a nobody
Then follow that somebody
Who already is a nobody
Later, let go of everybody
Even that somebody
Who already is a nobody
Eventually, you will be a real nobody

Written by somebody, who wants to be a nobody, for the benefit of everybody.
