I see what Dave is saying. I see Twitter as a kind of evolution we are part of. You can get past the inanities if you refuse to be inane yourself. Also, you need to put some effort into finding interesting people, but also interesting people find you. I think it helps to be on Twitter for a range of reasons: professional, intellectual and social. But just like life, you have to surf the dross to get the gold.

Okay... I been trying Twitter again the past couple of days... just seeing it as a way of sharing... whether or not someone responds. So the jury is still out for me. Just call me fickle. :-)

After a few weeks using it I find that I'm not enjoying Twitter. I can't see it an effective way of connecting with people at a real relational level. Business, maybe, if you want to spend a lot of time on it working it into your marketing plan. And I don't see how any new generation of the Web will create authenticity and transparency. To me Twitter is like a one way conversation in a chat room. Too much noise and too little human connection. That'd be my experience and opinion anyway.

Love Jim's term of twitterelectic. That is definitely me. I'm thinking there's a new paradigm coming about because of Web 2.0 and it will require a great deal of authenticity and some degree of transparency.

I'm d_wombat on twitter... I use it for sharing thoughts and for telling my politicians what I think they should be doing. I just don't have a phone capable of doing it remotely so I am confined to using it at home or at work... at work is not looked favourably upon. :-(

How to be a Nobody

How to be a Nobody
By Kwee Lain

Everybody wants to be a somebody
Nobody knows how to be a nobody
If ever there is a somebody
Who knows how to be a nobody
Then that nobody is a real somebody

If you ever want to be a nobody
Then follow that somebody
Who already is a nobody
Later, let go of everybody
Even that somebody
Who already is a nobody
Eventually, you will be a real nobody

Written by somebody, who wants to be a nobody, for the benefit of everybody.
