I woke up this morning thinking about the little old lady in that commercial "I've fallen and I can't get up!" Wondering if she were still alive---and why we all thought that was so funny. For some reason it touched off a urge to pray in me, and it was a rather different sort of praying this morning. It seems I have many forms of prayer--which led me to ponder again what IS prayer, really?

EXACTLY! Looking forward to hearing what you have to share.

There is something that has been circling around my heart for quite a while that hopefully I will see my way clear to share about prayer. The thing is, I believe prayer is everything we talked about here, but so much more. And my heart tells me prayer is less about moving God, than offering ourselves as a doorway through which HE can move.

Ginny said.... And my heart tells me prayer is less about moving God, than offering ourselves as a doorway through which HE can move.

This sort of reminds me of a poemish thing I posted here last spring. "fulfilling Love: Capacity for a Hole". I posted it below in the blog section. Thanks Jinny for helping me "remember" and wrting a phrase that pulled it all together for me.

HAH! you are so funny Keren! It is no big deal. Ginny is short for Virginia. I have just always felt more like a Ginny than a Virginia....

I download the podcasts from The God Journey and Free Believers Network every week, however I seldom have a chance to listen to them. So I was cooking and cleaning this weekend and thought "Let me listen to some podcasts this morning while I work". I generally listen to those from The God Journey more just because I like to listen to Wayne and Brad and really haven't listened to FBN much. Well in my list of podcasts on my MP3 player somehow one from FBN got mingled in. It fit in with this discussion so I thought I'd upload it so you guys could listen to it too. I really enjoyed it and it just seemed to hit home.

Well, I just read the whole string....you guys rock!

And what a way to conclude: ...offering ourselves as a doorway through which HE can move!...

It seems also...prayer is perhaps a small way of offering ourselves to each other...offering some space in our hearts to allow other people's lives/needs/etc to move through with and in us (and on us too) :o)

Thanks guys---Jim is right---you DO rock! Keren, I could not have said it better myself---that kind of prayer does make other people more intimately connected to you, and that is such a good thing! Have a wonderful New Year!

How to be a Nobody

How to be a Nobody
By Kwee Lain

Everybody wants to be a somebody
Nobody knows how to be a nobody
If ever there is a somebody
Who knows how to be a nobody
Then that nobody is a real somebody

If you ever want to be a nobody
Then follow that somebody
Who already is a nobody
Later, let go of everybody
Even that somebody
Who already is a nobody
Eventually, you will be a real nobody

Written by somebody, who wants to be a nobody, for the benefit of everybody.
